From idea to individual care

In our facilities, we offer comprehensive myo-orthopedic care – from the initial consultation to long-term support. Our team first assesses the medical suitability for an electrical stimulation system. If treatment is deemed appropriate, practical testing begins under the professional guidance of our orthotists. Upon request, a test device can even be borrowed to experience its everyday use in practice. Only when the results are satisfactory does the actual treatment begin – tailored, discreet, and future-oriented.

When my son had a serious sports accident, we were sent from the hospital to Orthopädie Scharpenberg because we needed an orthosis. We were given a very warm welcome, hardly had to wait at all, and the product was explained to us very clearly. We received excellent care in every respect.

Myo-orthosis meets modern carbon technology

Another innovative system is the evomove® , an orthosis that combines electrical stimulation with modern carbon technology. Gait is improved not only through targeted muscle stimulation but also through the mechanical properties of the carbon used. The orthosis utilizes both the plantar flexors and the pretibial muscles to actively shape the corresponding gait phases. This interplay can be particularly helpful in cases of central nervous system disorders such as infantile cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, or stroke, as it specifically improves the natural movement of the lower leg. Each evomove® device is individually tailored to the patient to achieve the best possible physiological gait quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a myo-orthosis and how does it work?
A myo-orthosis uses targeted electrical stimulation to support the natural muscle contraction during the gait cycle, especially in cases of foot drop or neurological disorders.
Who is a myo-orthosis suitable for?
The device is suitable for neurological impairments such as MS, ICP, stroke or incomplete spinal cord injuries, provided that certain muscle activities are still present.
How does a trial proceed?
Following a consultation, we assess medical suitability and conduct a supervised trial. We then prepare a written report for submission to the health insurance company.
Can I test the orthosis before buying it?
Yes, in close coordination with your health insurance company, we offer the possibility of borrowing a suitable system and testing it in everyday life.
