3D Scanning and 3D Printing

When providing the Talee cranial orthosis, we rely on state-of-the-art technologies, from digital measurement to precise 3D printing. The combination of functionality and child-friendly comfort is particularly important to us: The orthosis should be as unobtrusive as possible in everyday life, fit well, and provide maximum effectiveness. Our specially trained orthotists take ample time for consultation, fitting, and close monitoring of the therapy. Parents receive ongoing updates on the child’s progress, including visual documentation via scan history.

When my son had a serious sports accident, we were sent from the hospital to Orthopädie Scharpenberg because we needed an orthosis. We were given a very warm welcome, hardly had to wait at all, and the product was explained to us very clearly. We received excellent care in every respect.

Frequently asked questions

What is a cranial orthosis like "Talee"?
A cranial orthosis is a specially made helmet used for infants with skull asymmetries such as plagiocephaly or brachycephaly. The “Talee” orthosis allows for gentle and effective correction during early childhood development.
When is the right time for helmet therapy?
Ideally, treatment should begin between the 4th and 12th month of life. During this phase, skull growth can be particularly well influenced.
How long does the therapy with the cranial orthosis last?
The duration of use varies individually, but is usually between 3 and 6 months. Regular check-ups ensure that development is progressing optimally.
How is the helmet orthosis adjusted?
The head is digitally measured using a 3D scan. From this, a precisely fitting helmet shape is modeled, which is then manufactured using a modern 3D printing process.
Is the "Talee" orthosis comfortable for the baby?
Yes. The helmet is particularly lightweight, breathable, and designed to be as unobtrusive as possible even during extended wear, ensuring high acceptance and comfort.
How much does it cost to be fitted with the "Talee" orthosis?
Costs vary depending on the individual case. In many cases, health insurance companies cover part or all of the therapy; we would be happy to advise you personally on this.
